A “Democratic” town?

Thinking about Tuesday election.

Gadfly realizes he doesn’t know enough about the “political” history of Bethlehem.

D-Boscola 25 years in office.

D-Samuelson 20 years in office.

D-mayors for 20 years (and Ken Smith looks like a bit of an anomaly).

Are there any R’s on Council?

Etc.

Is it safe to say that Bethlehem is a “Democratic” town?

And, if so, more significantly, why is that?

Gadfly would benefit greatly from some info on the political history of Bethlehem.

Timely, as we think about heading to the polls on Tuesday.

  1. I think it’s safe to say Bethlehem is a democratic town, but also safe to say not all people who run as democrats represent what I think of a common democratic values. Of course, many citizens here seem largely asleep when it comes to local politics, so people who elect democratic candidates may not even be aware when local elected officials are not representing them well. -Breena

  2. Have to think Steelworkers helped keep it Democratic. Although some of the Dems have been very pro-development,
